Salted Caramel Sauce
I'm a huge fan of sweet food, but something I love even more is sweet and salty together. Today I'm sharing a quick and easy salted caramel sauce recipe that is perfect drizzled over some ice-cream (it's actually a really nice way to have ice-cream during winter as it's lovely and warm!), but can also be used in many other ways such as in milkshakes and drizzled over brownies or cake. Here is the recipe:
What you'll need:
- 140g brown sugar
- 125ml cream
- 140g butter
- Sea salt to taste
1. Melt the butter over a low heat in a small pan, then add the sugar, stirring until dissolved.
2. Add the cream, bring to the boil and then turn the heat down and simmer for 5-10 mins.
3. Add a pinch or two of sea salt until desired taste (I added around 3 pinches as I LOVE salt).
4. Drizzle over ice-cream and enjoy!
