One of my biggest sewing projects to date was making the bridesmaids dresses for our wedding. As big as the task was (especially considering I was in the middle of my final year of uni) I am in love with how they turned out, and wouldn't of had it any other way. Today I thought I would share a little about the bridesmaid dresses and the process of making them.
As soon as I got engaged, I knew I was going to make my bridesmaids dresses. The tough decision was what kind of fabric/style I was going to make them! In the end I decided on a different floral fabric for each dress, which ended up being the perfect choice.
I wanted the style of the dresses to be comfortable and flattering for each of the girls, and therefore designed the dresses to be over the knee with a gathered skirt and cute capped sleeves. I also decided to add some ties at the back to make the dresses extra special and to allow me to make the dresses with a little bit of extra room just in case, but that could be tied in with a bow at the back to still keep the style flattering.
I also made some matching ties for the groomsmen to wear which tied (excuse the pun) everything together nicely. I hope you enjoyed a little look into the process of designing and making my bridesmaid dresses. x
